Homogenization of Nonlinear PDEs in the Fourier-Stieltjes Algebras

چکیده
We introduce the Fourier-Stieltjes algebra in Rn which we denote by FS(Rn). It is a subalgebra of the algebra of bounded uniformly continuous functions in Rn, BUC(Rn), strictly containing the almost periodic functions, whose elements are invariant by translations and possess a mean-value. Thus, it is a so called algebra with mean value, a concept introduced by Zhikov and Krivenko (1986). Namely, FS(Rn) is the closure in BUC(Rn), with the sup norm, of the real valued functions which may be represented by a FourierStieltjes integral of a complex valued measure with finite total variation. We prove that it is an ergodic algebra and that it shares many interesting properties with the almost periodic functions. In particular, we prove its invariance under the flow of Lipschitz Fourier-Stieltjes fields. We analyse the homogenization problem for nonlinear transport equations with oscillatory velocity field in FS(Rn). We also consider the corresponding problem for porous medium type equations on bounded domains with oscillatory external source belonging to FS(Rn). We further address a similar problem for a system of two such equations coupled by a nonlinear zero order term. Motivated by the application to nonlinear transport equations, we also prove basic results on flows generated by Lipschitz vector fields in FS(Rn) which are of interest in their own.

Some notes on L-projections on Fourier-Stieltjes algebras
In this paper, we investigate the relation between L-projections and conditional expectations on subalgebras of the Fourier Stieltjes algebra B(G), and we will show that compactness of G plays an important role in this relation.
متن کاملp-Analog of the Semigroup Fourier-Steiltjes Algebras
In this paper we define the $p$-analog of the restericted reperesentations and also the $p$-analog of the Fourier--Stieltjes algebras on the inverse semigroups . We improve some results about Herz algebras on Clifford semigroups. At the end of this paper we give the necessary and sufficient condition for amenability of these algebras on Clifford semigroups.
متن کاملFourier-stieltjes Algebras of Locally Compact Groupoids
For locally compact groups, Fourier algebras and Fourier-Stieltjes algebras have proved to be useful dual objects. They encode the representation theory of the group via the positive deenite functions on the group: positive deenite functions correspond to cyclic representations and span these algebras as linear spaces. They encode information about the algebra of the group in the geometry of th...
متن کاملSPECTRUM OF THE FOURIER-STIELTJES ALGEBRA OF A SEMIGROUP
For a unital foundation topological *-semigroup S whose representations separate points of S, we show that the spectrum of the Fourier-Stieltjes algebra B(S) is a compact semitopological semigroup. We also calculate B(S) for several examples of S.
متن کاملThe Restricted Algebras on Inverse Semigroups Iii, Fourier Algebra
The Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes algebras A(G) and B(G) of a locally compact group G are introduced and studied in 60’s by Piere Eymard in his PhD thesis. If G is a locally compact abelian group, then A(G) ≃ L(Ĝ), and B(G) ≃ M(Ĝ), via the Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes transforms, where Ĝ is the Pontryagin dual of G. Recently these algebras are defined on a (topological or measured) groupoid an...
